White, dazzling, unearthly, breathtaking, magical – these are words that are used to describe this biome of Altiros. If you turn around the corner and fall through the knee deep snow – don’t be too surprised, is it not a rare occasion in the Crystal Gardens. Chilling to the marrow through the layers of warm clothes cold is the master of this land. Luckily there are almost no strong wings in the Crystal Gardens, so the chance of being taken over by the snowstorm while exploring this beautiful biome is not that high. The snow falls on the snowdrifts so elegantly and slowly that it seems that the snowflakes are dancing through their brief flight, sparkling and spinning graciously and enjoying every second of it.
Among the snow covered white lands here and there you can see curious formations. From distance they seem to be beautiful trees with enchanting blue and grey crowns of bizarre forms, burning with a cold magical fire. But when you get closer you can see the remarkable perfection of proportions and the uncommon straightness of the lines of the glass fir trees with leaves of extraordinary fractal shapes. And yes, they are the reason this biome is named Crystal Gardens. These magical crystal trees sometimes grow alone, but more often than not they form beautiful groves, and who knows what is hidden among these enchanting trees...
Apart from the magical crystal fir trees this biome is also famous for its sapphire hurricane plants with intricately cut shapes of their large leaves - just like their green namesakes in tropical forests. They stand by the elegant crystal fir trees like kennels of dogs, waiting for a command from their master.
The poignant unbroken silence covers the Crystal Garden with its veil and is only disturbed sometimes with a light rustling of the weightless snowflakes carried by an almost imperceptible breeze. The flawless perfection of these mother Nature’s miniature masterpieces can only be compared to other works of the same author – the beauty of the leaves and plants decorated with elaborate ornaments is no less a miracle than the perfect symmetry and elegance of a snowflake. We should also mention the amazing flowers growing in this biome for they are no less awe-inspiring. The flowers are shaped similar to violets, but have the most unusual intense sapphire colour bringing to mind the peaceful clear waters of an enchanting deep lake. Do not think that this perfect environment is a lifeless desert – on the contrary! Deep under the snow gentle bluebells are hidden providing the most delicate colour accent for the whitest snow. They are safe in this biome – not many travelers take the risk of entering the enthralling and magical Crystal Gardens where unpredictable and unknown mysteries and chilling enigmas wait for the strangers. Maybe you are the one destined to solve them? But do not be hasty – many travelers disappeared without a trace in these fields of snow, and no one will ever know what happened to them...
